spaghettiornot.com ("we", "this site") is a simple browser game. This page explains what information is collected when you visit.
Information we collect directly
We don't have user accounts or logins, and we don't collect your email or any other personal information, except as described below.
If your streak makes the top 10, you can choose to enter a name (up to 8 letters or numbers). That name, your score, and the time you saved it are stored and shown publicly on the high score list. Don't use your real name if you'd rather not. Scores that fall out of the top 10 are deleted automatically. To have an entry removed, email us.
Game statistics
When you play, the site records which photos were guessed right or wrong and how long each streak lasted, so we can keep the game fair. These are anonymous totals: nothing about you or your device is stored with them.
Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies or any persistent identifiers, and it doesn't track you across other websites.
Cookies and advertising
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising.
Third-party ad vendors, including Google, may also collect and use certain data for measurement and to combat fraud and abuse. Google's own practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms page.
Photos you send us
If you send in a photo, we store the photo, whether you said it's spaghetti, and the short description you typed (if any). Before uploading, your device shrinks the photo and we remove hidden details such as the location it was taken and the camera or phone model. We don't store your name or email with it.
Every photo is reviewed before it can appear in the game. Rejected photos are deleted. Approved photos may appear in the game without credit. By sending a photo, you confirm that you took it or have the right to share it. To have a photo you sent removed, email us.
To stop people flooding us with uploads, we count how many photos each visitor sends per day, using a scrambled (hashed) version of their internet address. These counts are deleted after two days.
Photos
Most photos in the game come from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons and public domain licenses. Full credits, photographer names, and license details are available on the photo credits page. Some photos were sent in by players.
